Resources

Here's a list of some of my favorite tools, resources, and services that I use to run my business. I'm a non-techie person, and I do a lot of research to find the easiest tools, resources, and methods. These get my personal seal of approval.

Many of these are FREE, or offer FREE TRIALS, so go ahead and try them out!

Some (not all) are affiliate links, which means I may get a few dollars for introducing you to the product (this money helps me to bring you the free content and tutorials you see here on the site) if you decide to make a purchase.

Texture.  If you're pitching reporters at magazines, you need to be reading those publications.  Texture is a magazine subscription service that gives you access to over 200 national magazines -- including all of their back issues! It's easier than spending the day at the library, and cheaper than buying all those back issues on their web site. Use this link for a free 14 day trial, and then $9 for 3 months if you want to keep using it.

HARO.  This FREE service is one of the easiest and quickest ways to get publicity.  Download my ebook (also free) on how to use it here.

Constant Contact.  The best way to keep in touch with your audience is through email marketing. I recommend Constant Contact because it's built for people who aren't 'career marketers', and they offer live coaching and support -- not to mention they have a 98% industry-leading email delivery rate.  Sign up by clicking here, and one of their coaches will get in touch to help you get set up and get access to their easy-to-use drag and drop interface, and other advanced features like social media scheduling, event management, autoresponders, and other list-growth tools.  Use my Affiliate Code: CYBER17 through Dec. 1 for 50% off for 2 months.

Loom.  If you see a screencast or video tutorial on my web site, chances are I recorded it with Loom.  This FREE video app for Chrome is super simple to use - one click to record, and one click to finish.

AppSumo. This is the 'Groupon for Entrepreneurs.'  They offer great lifetime deals on all sorts of software and services you need to run and automate your business, and often times can save thousands of dollars. Check out their latest offerings here.

Amazon Kindle Unlimited 30-Day Free Trial. This is a great way to catch up on all those business books you've been meaning to read (or just books for fun). You get unlimited reading from over 1 million ebooks, and unlimited listening to thousands of audiobooks.  Or, if you're really into audiobooks,  Try Audible and Get Two Free AudiobooksAnd if you haven't already, be sure to download the always free, Kindle e-reading app, which allows you to read your favorite books on your computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.

Hostgator. Just starting out? Need a web site?  I use Hostgator to both buy domains and for web hosting. Easy to get set up, and they have great customer service. Click here and use code: BRANDPR2017 for a Domain, Hosting, and Unlimited Email for Just $3/mo.

Ebates. Ebates offers an easy way to get cash back on things you normally buy, both online and in-store, like dog food, clothes, food... just about anything. Stores determine how much cash back you get from each purchase, and ebates puts that money right into your paypal account. Some stores offer up to 10% or 25% cash back! (At the time I'm writing this, Amazon is offering 6% back. I got $4 and some change yesterday on an Amazon Prime purchase - and I shop there a lot. It adds up fast.) Sign up through this affiliate link here to get an extra $10 back with your first purchase.
